Pay Range:  Unpaid
Hours:  Weekday availability; specific front desk coverage shifts to be coordinated with the Operations Manager.
Duration:  Semester-based, with the opportunity to extend based on organizational need and intern performance.

Job Summary:
Cornerstone is seeking a motivated and dedicated Front Desk Intern to support our mission of creating communities where individuals and families are safe and children thrive. Often the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and participants, the Front Desk Intern will provide welcoming reception and administrative support that contributes to the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the organization. Please note this is an unpaid internship, well-suited for students seeking academic credit or hands-on professional experience in the non-profit sector.
Responsibilities
  • Reception & Customer Service: Greet and welcome visitors in a friendly, professional manner, in person and by phone. Answer questions, direct visitors, take messages, and provide general information. Keep the front desk area tidy, organized, and welcoming.
  • Safety & Confidentiality: Follow Cornerstone's visitor sign-in and identification procedures, and maintain strict confidentiality regarding participants and staff. Escalate safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with general office duties, including filing, data entry, copying, and managing correspondence, to support smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Communication & Correspondence: Track incoming and outgoing mail and email, and relay internal messages accurately and promptly.
  • Office Operations: Monitor and restock office supplies, report maintenance or supply needs to a supervisor, and support donation coordination across the organization.
  • Meeting & Event Support: Help staff organizational events by assisting with coordination, logistics, and day-of support.
  • Data & Records Management: Help maintain and organize paper and electronic files, ensuring accurate, up-to-date records, and support a file retention and destruction project in line with organizational policy.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., non-profit management, social work, business administration, or a related field).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom, and comfort with technology.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A passion for social justice and a commitment to Cornerstone's mission.

Physical Requirements
  • This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
